Xbox Series X Runs No Hotter Than an Xbox One X Says Microsoft, Despite Recent Reports

Last week a small handful of lucky journalists and streamers got to go their Xbox Series Ten on, and for the virtually part, the early impressions were positive, with testers reporting bang-up loading times, improved operation for backward compatible games, and little to no fan noise.

That said, as folks have continued to live with their new consoles, a few take reported something less flattering – plain the Xbox Series X has a tendency to get rather warm. Here's what CNET video editor-at-big and Giant Beatcast member Jeff Bakalar had to say almost the matter (cheers to Video Games Chronicle for the transcription)…

Here's what's crazy…[the Xbox Series X] was but plugged in in standby mode behind me and you guys, the entire matter is a little toasty. It seems like in the manner similar a lot of the other consoles were doing stuff while you were not using them, information technology seems similar this matter might be doing something while y'all're non using it, to the point where it needs to exhaust estrus.

At 1 betoken, Bakalar also pulls the storage expansion out of the XSX and finds it warm to the touch, although he's obviously playing things upwards a fleck. So, what's the bargain? Are we going to be toasting marshmallows over the Xbox Series X's vents? Probably non – Xbox marketing guru Aaron Greenberg has responded to the latest hot reports, and according to him, Microsoft has washed tests and institute the Xbox Series X isn't significantly toastier than the Xbox One X.

The console will output system oestrus out of the frazzle, merely as any other panel will. Our engineering team confirmed the heat leaving the panel is non significantly different than Xbox I X. This matches my feel at home quiet, fast & impressive ability for the size.

While I haven't gone hands on with an Xbox Series Ten, I suspect its heat venting may only be more noticeable because of its vertical smokestack-like design. Traditionally, consoles have just been tucked away in Television set stands and only vent estrus out the back, so about of us don't actually take note of how hot they can go. So, hopefully much ado about nothing, although we won't know for sure how the machine holds upwardly estrus-wise until more players get their easily on it.
